ODUDUWA STATE; ANY CHANCE FOR ILE-IFE DURING AREGBESOLA'S REGIME?

Apparently the House of Representatives have confirmed that 10 new states will be created in Nigeria this year. 5 states in the north, and 5 in the south. Let’s see what comes of this. All the 36 current states in Nigeria were created by military governments. Let us see what happens here because the requirements for state creation are immense. To create a new state in Nigeria requires massive consensus. To create a state requires:
*the state’s creation must be supported by at least two-thirds of members (representing the area demanding the creation of the new State) in the Senate, House of Representatives, the House of Assembly in respect of the area, and the local government councils in respect of the area that the state will be created in, AND
*a referendum on the new state is approved by two-thirds of the people in the area where the state is to be created, AND
*the result of the referendum is then approved by a simple majority of all the 36 states of Nigeria supported by a simple majority of members of the Houses of Assembly, AND
*the state is approved by a resolution passed by two-thirds majority of members of each of the Senate and House of Representatives.
This is a very long process. Let’s hang on and see what happens.

The statement above is according to http://maxsiollun.wordpress.com.

Before former governor oyinlola of osun state left the office, he has approved the creation of oduduwa state with the capital in ile-ife. 13 local government have agreed to be part of it and the oduduwa state creation committee led by oba oladele olasore of iloko ijesha had presented it to the state creation committee in the federal house.
With the change in political atmosphere in osun state, what is the fate of ile-ife in achieving the goal of being the capital of proposed oduduwa state? One of the major players in the actualization of oduduwa state is senator Iyiola Omisore (PDP), ife/ijesha senatorial district, chairman of appropriation committee in the senate. coming this may, omisore will no longer be the senator representing ife/ijesha, he will be replaced by senator-elect omoworare(ACN) from ile-ife.
The change in leadership in osun state now brings a lot of questions, some of these questions will prove many things and some of them are; will creation of oduduwa state with capital in ile-ife get approval from the leadership of ACN in osun state? will governor aregbesola disagree with former governor oyinlola on approval of oduduwa state and revoke the prior approval? will the senator omoworare continue the work on actualization of oduduwa state? and the final question, will ijesha people use the advantage of aregbesola being the governor to pursue their on state creation?
These questions and many more is something that the people of ife should take a look and see where and how we are killing our chances of getting what we deserve. Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the mastermind behind the creation of oduduwa state has done everything possible to make sure we get this thing. this is the time for the people of ife to throw their support behind this king and make sure that ile-ife achieve this goal when he is alive. because of the hate some yoruba leaders have for ife, we lost the first bid to oshogbo, the second bid went to ekiti, now the third time, we still see a lot of yoruba leaders that still believe ile-ife don't deserve it. ile-ife arise! this is our fight, let's forget about political party and fight for what we deserve. we are the source of yoruba race and what can we show for it?
